Internal Operations Manager

At Robinson Electric Company, Inc., we owe our continued success to our dedicated employees and to the efficiency of our organizational processes. To help maintain and grow this standard, we’re seeking an experienced Internal Operations Manager to oversee many of these daily activities.

The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven track record in managing multiple aspects of the daily business for maximum productivity. This person will be highly skilled in a similar management role and be able to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the operations team.

Objectives & responsibilities of this role

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with managers, staff, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the company.
  • Maintain/improve current inventory processes and implementation of an electronically managed inventory system.
  • Oversee and manage the purchasing of all materials for inventory, projects, equipment, and fleet vehicles for the company.
  • Management and oversight of company facilities to include but not be limited to insurance, upkeep, maintenance, and projects.
  • Management of entire company vehicle fleet and coordination of fleet through EFM, insurance carrier, and telematics companies.
  • Management of entire company equipment fleet and coordination of fleet through insurance carrier and telematics companies.
  • Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the company’s internal capacity.
  • Maintain/improve current safety program to ensure that activities remain OSHA compliant and moving the company’s safety agenda in a forward direction.

Required skills and qualifications.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Competence in problem solving.
  • Strong skills in budget development and oversight
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control.
  • Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
  • Knowledge of business productivity software and an aptitude for learning new applications.
  • Experience and comfort in making presentations & speaking to small groups.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.
  • Two or more years of proven success in an operations management role
  • Background and experience in managing inventory.
  • Working knowledge of management software programs, preferably SAGE 300 CRE or similar.
  • Strong IT skills, including database development, Excel, and Word.
  • Multiple years of financial and account reporting experience.
  • OSHA certifications

Electrician Apprentice

We are searching for a reliable electrician apprentice to join our team. The electrician apprentice’s responsibilities include completing all tasks assigned by the master electrician, which may include assisting with installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrations of electrical systems and equipment. You should be eager to learn and able to follow instructions.

To be successful as an electrician apprentice, you should demonstrate good time management and customer service skills. Outstanding candidates are highly analytical, observant and have sound knowledge of safety protocols.

Electrician Apprentice Responsibilities:

  • Learning from the master electrician and completing all assigned duties.
  • Identifying, analyzing, troubleshooting and assisting with repairs of equipment and electrical faults.
  • Traveling out to various public and private spaces to assist the master electrician.
  • Interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Updating work logs, client accounts and handling other administrative duties.
  • Ordering replacement parts and equipment as needed.
  • Completing electrical installations and carrying out various maintenance duties.
  • Working irregular hours and overtime when required.
  • Communicating with clients in a professional, courteous manner at all times.
  • Collaborating with construction workers, plumbers and other crew members.

Electrician Apprentice Requirements:

  • A relevant license and certification.
  • Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
  • Ability to handle criticism appropriately.
  • A valid driver’s license or reliable transport.
