About the Position

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive team in Cleveland, Mississippi (not remote). Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the COO will be a vital force behind our continued growth and operational excellence.

This individual will:

  • Provide leadership and strategic vision
  • Improve systems, procedures, and controls
  • Align operations with company goals
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration and efficiency

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Proven leadership experience, with a strong track record of change management
  • Proficient in systems including Sage 300, Procore, and Paychex
  • Background in construction, electrical, or mechanical industries strongly preferred
  • Business acumen in operations, finance, sales, and strategic planning
  • Experience in managing vendor, banking, insurance, and bonding relationships
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 10 years in progressive leadership within construction/electrical management

Responsibilities

  • Lead staff and department operations in alignment with company vision and business strategy
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Comptroller, and executive team to drive both operational and financial performance
  • Inspire and motivate employees across all levels-field teams, managers, and executive leadership
  • Leverage technology to analyze and synthesize data for strategic decision-making
  • Set measurable goals for growth, performance, and profitability
  • Develop and implement tools to monitor internal/external efficiency
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of operations
  • Oversee HR systems and policies, including hiring, onboarding, and compliance
  • Work with leadership to optimize workflows, infrastructure, and company policies
  • Review and guide budgets, staffing plans, and project pipelines
  • Lead and grow the operations team
  • Other duties as needed to support business needs
