Simplot Grower Solutions Dry Fertilizer Terminal

This project delivered a new dry fertilizer terminal at the Port of Rosedale, featuring 32,087 tons of storage capacity, a 2,911 sq. ft. operations office, and a 2,400 sq. ft. maintenance building. The electrical scope included full power distribution, motor control centers, VFDs, PLC-based controls, fiber and copper communications, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection. These systems support fertilizer receiving, storage, blending, and load-out with integrated dust control and safety features.

Completed in 2025, the project met the owner’s seasonal timeline for spring planting. Electrical construction was phased with mechanical work to allow progressive system commissioning and ensure timely operational readiness.

The project was completed with zero recordable incidents. Daily safety practices included Job Safety Analyses, consistent lock-out/tag-out procedures, and lift planning for tall structures. A full arc-flash study was completed, with proper labeling and operator training provided at turnover.

This terminal strengthens the region’s agricultural supply chain by enabling high-capacity fertilizer handling at a key river and highway access point. The electrical systems provide reliable automation and safety in a demanding industrial setting, showcasing effective coordination, design innovation, and execution.
